Notes
a. Note:   Email from Bob Simon We lived directly across the street from Frank Fritz. Rose Myers,Frank's sister, lived next to the Fritzs. Frank and his wife had threechildren, Agnes, Michael, and Frances, and all have since passed away. Frank ran a blacksmith shop behind his home and I remember watching himwork at his forge. I thought him as quite an artisan, because he couldmake almost anything out of iron. One of his ongoing jobs was to makenew plow points for plow shares for the many farmers in the area. Hisbrother, your Great-grandfather, called Stub, used to shoe horses atFrank's blacksmith shop. An interesting fact: My older sister, Arlene, used to help Rose Myers doher housework and shopping, etc. as Mrs. Myers, as we called her, wascrippled or an invalid. My sister found her when she died. She had goneover to her house to help her. This was quite a shock to my sister, whoat the time was about 10 or 12 years of age. I would say that this wasabout 1939 or 1940. Another interesting fact: Franz Fritz's wife had a sister named Sadie. She was married to my Great-uncle, Edward Simon. She married him afterher first husband, whose last name was Walters, had passed away. Sheassisted my mother when all three of us children were born. At thattime, children were all born at home and the mother had some kind ofassistance for a week or so to help out with the housework. Fact No.3: I Was born in the house that Rose Fritz Myers lived in. I amtold that we moved across the street, where I was raised, when I wasabout 6 months old. I hope this infomation is of some interest to you and I am glad to supplyyou with this information. Bob Simon Another intersting fact: In the 1940s, the small ton of Monroeville hadthree Frank Fritz'z. One was Frank A. Fritz, another was Frank J. Fritz, and the third was J. Frank Fritz.
