a. Note:   As you may have noticed all children of John Wachowiacz are listed as Vahovick. When my father, Edward Vahovick died in 1976 we found that the spelling of his name on his baptism record was spelled Wachowiacz. The story behind this was coveyed to me like this: When my ancestors first arrived in America from Europe, and their children first attended school the teachers could not pronounce their name the way it was written, so they spelled it the way it was pronounced. The Polish letter "W" is pronounced "V" and the Polish "ch" is like the english "h" so the name Wachowiacz sounded like "Va Ho Vick" Thus the name Vahovick came about.
