Note: Bonnie Jean Hadley was the daughter of David Monroe Hadley and Jennie Rebecca Daniel. She had many fond memories of her youth. She and her siblings enjoyed swimming and fishing. When they wanted to raise money, they sold fruit. In 1929, she married Michael Kelly, the son of Timothy Kelly and Martha Ellen Scott. The Kelly's and the Hadley's had been neighbors and her husband had held her on his lap when she was a young girl. She worked for a dentist in Waco and when she and her son moved to Hereford Texas, where she found work with a local dentist. However, the dentist quit practice and she opened her "hamburger place" and sold hamburgers. She built the cafe known as "The Corral" in Hereford. She was given to restless spirit and in her lifetime not only sold hamburgers, but owned a linen store, sold advertising and collected bad debts for a radio station, and ran a sandwich shop. She was always looking for something to do. She began living with Sadye Rigler, her first cousin, who lived in Hereford and who was a school teacher. Upon Sadye's retirement, they moved to Waco which they considered home. Both Sadye and Bonnie had been born and lived on Robinson Road, Robinson, Texas a small town west of Waco. heir mothers were Virginia ( Jennie )Rebecca Daniel and Willie Marion Daniel who were sisters. Sadye was the youngest of thirteen children. She attended West Texas State College in Canyon where she major in English. She began teaching in Hereford, Texas and remained there until her retirement. She was known as a demanding teacher. She recieved many notes of appreciation from those that went on to college since this "demanding teacher" had taught her students very well. Sadye and Bonnie left Waco and for several years traveled extensively. Bonnie loved to fish and did so in Mexico and Alaska. There are several family photos with her standing with her catch of the day which included Alaskan Salmon.. Eventually, they moved to Aledo, Texas. There Sadye died and Bonnie went to Lakeland, Florida to live near her son. She died in Lakeland, Florida on April 6, 1995. Her cremains were sent to Waco where they were interred in the grave of her father David Monroe Hadley in Oakwood Cemetary, Waco, Texas.
