a. Note:   Timothy Joesph Kelly was born near the village of Cree in in the Townland of Caircullen, County Clare, Republic of Ireland. As of 2005 ,the Kelly family still resided there. . Timothy was one four brothers who came to the United States. He came to America about 1871. In his his 1921 obit in the Waco, Texas newspaper, it states that he had been in America about 50 years at the time of his death. His son William Morris left letters addressed to Timothy and his other brothers from Ireland. Each letter was written by their father, Michael. According to his son Daniel Kelly, Timothy came through the port of Baltimore.In the 1870's, there were three Kelly brothers in America, John, Thomas, and Timothy., The correspondence and the census record states that Timothy was a stone mason. His brothers were in Plymouth, Pa in the 1870's. At this time, Timothy and his friend Jimmy Higgins left Chicago for Marshall, Texas. Marsall was a main center for the railroads. One of the residents in the area was a William Thomas Scott who founded the Texas and Pacific Railroad. He founded the town of Scottsville nearby. Scottville and Marshall was where members of Scott Family made their homes as they migrated from Copiah County, Mississippi to Texas. Timothy married Martha Ellen Scott, the daughter of William James Scott and Henrietta Warner. Martha Ellen was a Methodist and a member of the Scott family of Scottsville, Texas. Timothy and Martha married in the St. Joesph Catholic Church in Marshall, Texas. Timothy became a contractor with the I & GN Railroad. He and his men built bridges and roundhouses. . The Kellys lived in towns which were railroad centers. They moved to Taylor, Texas where many their children were born and raised. In retirement, Timothy and Martha moved to Robinson, Texas which is outside of Waco. Timothy died at their home on Robinson Road in Robinson, Texas. His wife with her two sons, Michael and Hollie moved to 919 North 21st in Waco, Texas where Martha Ellen died. Timothy, Martha, Michael, and Hollie are all buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas. Letters from Ireland were left in the estate of William Morris Kelly the brother of Michael Kelly father of Michael Jean Kelly. The information gleaned from these letters led to the Kelly Farm in Ireland which was visited by Michael J. and his wife Audrey. These letters are the source of much of the material in regard to Timothy J. Kelly and his family.
