Notes
a. Note:   David Monroe Hadley was the youngest child of William T. Hadley and Ophelia Cunningham. He was born in Minden, Louisiana and came to McClennan County prior to 1899 when he married Jennie Rebecca Daniel. My mother, Bonnie Jean Hadley, and others related that David Hadley was a kind and gentle man. He and his brother had a furniture store on the square in Waco. His wife, said that he was a fiddle player and often called dances. Jennie loved her husband very much. Their family life was filled with grief. Two of their children died in infancy one in 1907 and the other in 1915. In 1923, their oldest child William who was a mechanic and on his way to a new job was killed in a train crash. In 1923, David Hadley died of a self inflicted gunshot wound. He died in the arms of his wife. Jennie always wore her wedding rings and for her there was never anyone else she ever loved as much as her husband.
