a. Note:   Montgomery County, Tenn. The petition was authored by Dr. MorganBrown. On Aug. 29, Tristram (B.) Thomas was commissioned in Hickman CountyTenn (county made from Montgomery County) as a Lieutenant in thecalvary of the 6th Brigade. In 1812, he received a second commissionas lieutenant for the calvary in the 36th regiment. He was in CaptainJames Craig's Company of Tennessee Militia in the Regiment commandedby Col. Hammond in the war of 1812. The next time Tristram is on record is in the 1820 census of CovingtonCounty, Mississippi. In the 1830 census of Covington County Miss. Tristram was probably thecensus taker as his name is written on the front cover of the censuswith Williamsburg written beside his name This is where Tristramlived. In 1840 census, lists Tristram as living in next door Lawrence CountyMiss. However, he was also listed in the 1840 census of Caldwellparish , La. Family records indicate that he moved ther in 1838. Records show that Tristram was of considerable weath.
