Notes

Note:   1820 Bedford Co., Southern District, Va. Census, page 6 , John Burgantine household there are 2 children under 10, one male and one female, 2 males and 2 females between 16 and 26, and 1 female over 45. I think this is John, his wife, and one child ; William and Margaret Doyle and one child ; and Margaret Burgendine, the Mother of John and Margaret. The interesting thing about Leonard is he was born 1815 when Margaret was 17. ?? Did the War of 1812 play a part here also? Was then one of these children above Leonard? In 1830, Montgomery Co., Va. Census with William F. we find a male 10-15 listed. In 1840 Leonard and William F are listed together. No other Doyle is there. In 1880 Leonard was widowed and says his Mother was born in Pa. in the Census. 1840 1850 1860 1870 1880 Montgomery, Co / Roanoke, Co District 61 Dist 41 Salem P.O.
