Note: Ralph M. Wade, 54, of 76 Grant Street, a veteran of World War 1, for more than 19 years superintendent of the East Baptist Church Bible School, and for 24 years a member of the board of deacons, died at the Chelsea Naval Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital Feb. 17. Services were held yesterday at the East Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. William T. Murphy officiating. Mrs. Murphy was soloist. Bearers were Arthur C. Caswell, Ernest W. Strickland, Howard E. Foster, Earl L. Adams, Walter B. Hatfield and William L. Hatfield. Internment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, where Mr. Murphy conducted the committal prayers. Born in Lynn, he was educated in the Lynn schools, and for more than 33 years he was employed in the production department of the Beverly plant of the United Shoe Machinery Corporation until he retired a few years ago. When this country entered World War 1 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served a year, six months of which were spent in England. Mr. Wade was a member of East Lynn Post 291, American Legion, Bay State Lodge of Odd Fellows, Golden Fleece Lodge of Mason and the Quarter Century Club of the United Shoe Machinery Corporation. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Eva W. (Whitman) Wade; two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor W. McGrath of Lynn and Miss Dorothy C. Wade, a student nurse at the Deaconess Hospital, Boston; a brother, Roy W. Wade of Gardner ME., and a sister Mrs. Jeannette Cronin of Islington. He was in hospital for 21 days before dying of Hemorrhage cerebellum. He was in this community for 20 years.
