a. Note:   potsylvania, where he and most of his unit were killed. I went there to search for his grave, but most are unknown, and many were buried in unmarked mass graves. Most of the time he was with his brother Jacob, but Jacob got sick, and did not go to Gettysburg. Jacob was captured in the Battle of Spotsylvania and imprisoned at Elmira, NY. He was paroled after the endof the war.
Note:   He was a Confederate soldier in the 50th VA Infantry. He was inducted at Camp Narrows,VA. He fought in Fayette County, WVA, the blackwater section of SE VA, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and finally S
