1888 -- (01 Aug) Alexander BALLOW, "whose residence is unknown," is listed as an heir of Baker
BALLOW Sr., dec'd, of Bell Co., TX. One G.J. BALLOW (presumed to be Alexander's wife) of
Clay Co., TX, is also listed and receives a share of the estate. [Bell Probate Minutes G:96-98] [2]

Note: The above probate record seems to imply that Alexander deserted his wife and family; however,
family records indicate that he had died more than two years earlier (1886): "Ray [Lance, son of Felix
Lance, grandson of Missena Ellen Ballow] and Tracey [Gregory] say [he died] in McLean [McLennan
Co.?], Texas. My Mother [Essie Ballow Gregory Hixon] and the Ballow Family Bible said he died in S.
McAlester Sw., Pittsburg Co., OK and was buried in Crowder Cemetery, Crowder, Pittsburg Co., OK.
I visited that cemetery last fall & found no tombstone or record of one, but all old stones are either worn
smooth or gone and the record was made in 1988" [3]. More research is needed to resolve this matter.
