 1917 -- (06 Feb) David BALLOW dies in Broken Arrow, OK: "David BALLOU [sic] was born in North Carolina on
 January 18, 1842 and died in Broken Arrow, OK on February 6, 1917 aged 75 years and 19 days. When a young man
 he went to Kentucky. Here he was united in marriage with Melinda BOYD [sic]. Five children were born to this union.
 William died in infancy. B.A. is a printer in Chicago and I.A. [sic] is foreman of the Henry printing office in Tulsa. Mionie
 DORTON [sic] resides in Berkeley, CA. Ida died in infancy. The family moved to Missouri and then to Texas. In 1891
 they moved to Oklahoma. He married a second time to Florence D. COLLINS sixteen years ago. / Mr. BALLOU
 served in the Confederate army for four years. He was with MORGAN on his famous raid but went only as far as the
 Ohio river. The deceased joined the Masons while in Texas. He was a charter member of Broken Arrow lodge and for
 several years was on the honorary list. / The funeral took place at 2:30 Thursday from the South M.E. church, and was
 conducted by pastor Reverand A.M. DUPREE. The internment took place at Park Grove cemetary [sic] and was under
 the auspices of the Masonic Lodge. / Mrs. Florence BALLOU and the sons tender their thanks to kind neighbors and friends
 for their assistance during the illness and burial."
