Notes
a. Note:   In 1851 David was an Ag. Lab. aged 18yrs at Otterstone, Dalgety in the household of David and Mary Craig (ED p10 sch41) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At Wester Balbedie, Ballingry in 1881 Note: the name seems to have started being spelt Chaplin instead of Chaplain, particularly for those who moved out of Fife. Interestingly, it is spelt Chaplin in my mother's name (her middle name). The original spellings are chaplain or chaplane so the phonic sound of the name was originally long vowel in second syllable. David died a widowed labourer at 24 Nicol Street with his daughter, Christina Thomason, present. This death record confirms spouse and parents.
