Note: History of Preble County. Page 138 "Lewis Marker came to Preble county in the year 1839. He was born inMaryland in the year 1807. His settlement was made in the southwesternpart of Twin township, where he purchased two hundred and forty sevenacres of land. Hiw wife, Nancy Curtain, was born in the year 1809. Hehas had eight children born to him. He is now living on his farm,about two miles east of Eaton, on the Eaton and Dayton pike. EphraimMarker, his son, was born in 1841 in Twin Township. He married, in1864, Rebecca J., daughter of John and Mary Craig, born in 1843. Herparents came from Virginia to Preble county in 1837, and settled inWashington township. John Craig died in 1873; his wife is still livingand resides with Ephraim Marker. Mr. Marker came to Washingtontownship in 1878. He has had four children born to him; all of whomare living.
