Obituary taken from microfilm of Wellman Advance - April 1899. Elizabeth Longwell was born Dec. 17, 1806 ; died March 31, 1899, aged92 years, 3 months and 13 days. With her parents, she moved from herbirth place near Stanford, Connecticut, to Ohio. she was married toJohn W Winslow, July 23, 1825. Nine years after her marriage, herhusband died, Jan. 9, 1834, leaving her with four children - two boysand two girls - that were born to them, all of whom, except onedaughter, preceeded her in death. Remaining in widowhood for the 65years to the close of her life she constantly made her home with herson George, with whom she moved to Iowa in 1865, and to Wellman in1890. She became a christian and united with the Methodist churchnear the time of the death of her husband. She remarked to a friendnot long before her death that she had lived in the home of her sonGeorge the long number of years without an unkind word. She wasquiet, unassuming, cheerful and of a most amiable disposition. Funeral was held at the M.E. church sunday at 11 o'clock a.m.conductedby Rev. J.E. Newsom. Burial at new Wellman cemetery.
