Note: Resided first in Montgomery co, in 1818 to Darke Co. A land deed signed 12 June 1818 is the only record we have of William, Sr and wife Sally. In part the deed reads "William Wageman and Sally his wife and Peter Miller and his wife Peggy to Joseph Cripe for thesum of two hundred and eighty dollars" The land is described as 45 acresas part of the northeast quarter S36 T5 R4E. Original Records from the Cincinnati Land Office indicate the following: WAGGAMAN, Wm. 10-21-1805 S36 T5 R4E MILLER, Abraham 11-7-1805 S36 T5 R4E (Note from Ruth 4-8-98) Did Peter receive this same land from his father Abraham?? It may be speculative on my part but I think there is a close relation between Peter and Abraham MILLER. The following rec'd from Bruce McCrea DCO on May 18, 1998: Peter Miller and his descendants were extensively researched by Elton Miller of Greenville. The book Elton wrote on the Peter Miller family is available at the Garst Museum in Greenville and probably in other locations. The information below is taken from photocopies of some of the pages of Elton's book. Peter Miller and his family moved from PA to Montgomery Co OH between1807 and 1809. They lived in Jackson Twp, Montgomery Co OH, until1819-1820. On April 8, 1819, Peter Miller obtained a Federal Land Grant for aquarter section in Adams Twp, Darke Co OH. He and his family moved there soon after he purchased the land. In the same year, he purchased a parcelof land north of the land grant property. Despite extensive research,Elton was not able to learn anything about Peter Miller's parents or thepart of PA Peter and his family came from. Peter Miller died soon after the 1850 census. A transcript of an copyof a case summary of Oct., 1851, case in the Darke County Common PleaseCourt shows his heirs. Oct., 1851 - Henry MILLER vs Joseph MILLER, etal. In Partition. Elizabeth's 1898 obituary states, "Her first marriage vow with JohnMiller was ended by his death, April 2, 1841, leaving her a widow with two children, both surviving her." 1851 Henry Miller- DCO 1850 Census age 30, b.1820 OH Joseph Miller- Miami Co, IN Jacob Miller - DCO John Miller (d..2 April 1841) Wife, Elizabeth Martin, ch.
