a. Note:   April 1, 1965 Samuel Elmer Long, 81, died Thursday, March 25th at his homefollowing a lingering iillness. Elmer Long was born September 24,1883 to John and Sara Carl Long at Green Valley, Iowa. He attendedpublic school there and on May 6, 1907 he was united in marriage toMyrtle May Gladwin at Green Valley. They spent most of their marriedlife in the Champion Hill community until four years ago when theymoved to Wellman. Survivors are his wife Myrtle, two sons, George M of Cedar Rapidsand Kinn C of Glasbow, Montana. Five grand children and fourgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers andfive sisters. Funeral services were held Monday, March 29 at 1:30 p.m. atPowell Funeral Home with the Rev Earl Josten officiating. Intermentwas in the Odd Fellow cemetery at Marengo, Iowa. Obit: Myrtle M Long Rites Wednesday at Wellman Mrs Myrtle M Long, 79, formerly of Wellman died Sunday, March 28at the Green Square Nursiing Home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services were Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the PowellFuneral Home in Wellman with Rev Otto Steele in charge. Burial was inthe Odd Fellow Cemetery in Marengo. Mrs Long was born June 26, 1891 in Marengo to M A and AliceGladwin. She married Samuel E Long of Wellman February 26, 1907. Hedied in 1965. She had been a resident of Wellman and North Englishand resided at Cedar Rapids for ten years. Surviving are one son, Kinn C of Sheboygan falls, Wisconsin; fivegrandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Mrs Lola Long of Cedar Rapids. One son, George; two sisters and four brothers preceded her indeath.
