a. Note:   s a mission chcurch of St. Basile, NB, til 1843. They settled on 176 acres, (Lot 5, T 18, R 7. The land grants can be found in the Deed Office, Fort Kent, ME, Vol 21, pg 28, dated Dec 7, 1878. It is possible he aquired the land from the family of Jean Baptiste Daigle. The perticular block of land is known as Le Grande Deschare, referring to the expulsion of the Acadians. Daigle was one of the first to obtain land in this area.
