a. Note:   Some information from Paul Cassle's history of the Cassle Family in Texas. Some information is from the U.S. Census Hill County Texas l880 and l900 Some information from Bryan genealogy. He says John Revier was born April 2nd. Cemetery record shows April 12th. Some information was gained from an Application for his military pension after he had died. The application, filled out and signed by his widow,Margarget Revier, for his confederate pension shows his death as June 22, 1916. This application also states they married Sept. 12, 1865 in Hickman Co. TN According to the application the last name was sometimes "Reseur" The application gives information from the War Department regarding his military service. It states he served in Capt. G. M. V. Kinsere's Company (D), 2nd Battalion (Biffle's) Tennessee Cavalry, Confederate States Army. He served 3-4 years and was dischared June 5, 1861. He would have been only 17 when discharged. The application also states his widow, Margaret, does not own any land or a home as of 1930. Death certificate has very little information.
