A Popular Bride. A wedding of considerable interest took place at St Mary's Church, Lydney, on Tuesday, in the presence of a large congregation. The bridegroom was Percy William Wilton-Davies, eldest son of Mr W.T.Davies, St Helier, Jersey, and the bride Dorothy Eileen Wansbrough Higginson, youngest daughter of Mrs Hockaday and the late Mr F.S.Hockaday, Highbury, Lydney. The service was full choral. The Rev H.B.Parker, MA, officiated. Mr J.Baxter, organist, before the ceremony, played "Grand Choeur" (Richardson), "Triumphal March" (Dr Pollitt), "Postlude" (Dieriex), and at the conclusion of the service the "Bridal Song", "Wedding Symphony" (Goldmark), and Mendelssohn's "Wedding March". The processional hymn as the bride entered the church was "The Voice that breathed o'er Eden", and the concluding hymn, "O Perfect Love". The bride, who was given away by Dr Leo Zealand, brother-in-law, was charmingly attired in a smart two-piece suit of blue and fuchsia embossed georgette, trimmed with beige fox. She wore a blue picture hat to match, and beige shoes and stockings, and a string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. Her bouquet consisted of mauve and fuchsia carnations. The best man was Mr L.S.Glass. The bride's mother was attired in a black and beige crepe-de-Chine gown, and carried a bouquet of red carnations. After the ceremony the reception was held at "Highbury", after which Mr and Mrs Wilton-Davies left by car for their honeymoon, which will be spent in the Irish Free State. The bride's travelling dress was a grey and blue stockinette three-piece jumper suit, with a blue felt hat to match. The future home of the happy pair will be in India, where Mr Wilton-Davies is a civil engineer on the State Railways. The bells of St Mary's were rung before and after the ceremony.
