 Mr Wansbrough was involved in all the cultural activities in the new Cheviot district.
 The debating club, chess club, Church life, he was well known for his challenging editorials. Cheviot Museum hold about thirty editions of the Cheviot News, which are fully indexed. His indenture papers, other certificates and documents are held also at the Cheviot Museum. Miss Ngaio Wansbrough his daughter left instructions that all papers be lodged with the Cheviot Museum.
b. Note:   The Wansbrough family Bible records his death the day after this and not the place.

 Oamaru Museum says the marriage was at St Pauls Church [Coquet Street, Presbyterian].
