Notes
a. Note:   From the book "Genealogy of the descendants of John Gar, or more particularly of his son Andreas Gaar, who emigrated from Bavaria to America in 1732," by John Wesley Garr and his son John Calhoun Garr; published in 1894: Elias is listed as person #1962 and Permelia is listed as #5846. Elias is listed with his parent's family on page 112: ____________________________________________ Name Birth Death ____________________________________________ Elias Moore Permelia Stephens July 6, 1818 Dec. 24, 1875 m.- Jan. 29, 1834 Mary Waggener Dec. 12, 1839 Sarah ======================= I found these records showing various parcels of property that Elias seems to have purchased in Washington County, Illinois. I also found two records for parcels of land purchased by Elias' wife Permelia, in 1839. The above property records are all dated before this. Elias had been acting as the administrator for his father Jesse's estate, and the latest document I found in the probate file signed by Elias, was in February of 1840. It appears that the administration of the estate was taken over after this by Elias' uncle, Livesay Carter. Elias' wife Permelia Moore is listed as the head of he household on the 1840 census. She reportedly married a Joseph Wells in September of 1841. On the 1850 census in Washington County, Illinois, the 2 daughters Mary Waggoner Moore and Sarah Moore, are both listed with their mother Permelia in the household of Joseph Wells. I have been unable to find any record of Elias after 1840. Rick Waggener
