Fr. Raymond Buhl officiating. Burial was in the McManus- Ward plot of St. Patrick's cemetery. Pallbearers were Leo and John Condren, William Henderson, Frank Crimmons, Matthew Partlan, and Chester Mattern. Mrs. Brown died at her home in Flint at the age of 84 years, a former resident of Exeter township. =============== In the middle cemetery of the St. Patrick's Parish on Exeter Road, there is a headstone with the following inscription: "Mary Ward- 1841-1920 John Ward- 1843-1901 Anne Brown- 1861-1945" This is the grave of Bridgette Anna (McManus) Brown, and her Uncle John Ward (his mother Alice's brother) and his wife Mary (McCloskey) Ward. I'm not sure why Ann is buried with her Uncle and Aunt. Anne's husband John is buried nearby by with a pretty simple headstone. Her parents, Alice and Owen McManus, are also buried very close. Jerry Waggener said that he remembers visiting Ann Brown as a youngster, with his mother, Mary Adelaide (Henderson) Waggener. He said he knew that Ann was a relative of some sort, and that Ann was pretty old at the time. That probably would have been in the 1930's, and Ann would have been in her 70's. Ann was his mother Mary's Aunt. On Mary's Baptismal record at St. Patrick's in 1892, Ann and John are listed as sponsors. - Rick Waggener ============= From Michigan, Death Certificates, 1921-1952, posted on-line by the LDS: Name: Ann Brown Event Type: Death Event Date: 05 Nov 1945 Event Place: Flint, Genesee, Michigan, United States Gender: Female Age: 84 Marital Status: Widowed Birth Date: 18 Feb 1861 Birthplace: Michigan Birth Year (Estimated): 1861 Father's Name: Owen Mcmanus Mother's Name: Alice Ward GS Film number: 1972709 Digital Folder Number: 005237549 Image Number: 02173
