Notes
a. Note:   Thomas was the seventh of nine children born to his parents William Bryant Kenner and Mary Malinda Swink. He was born on November 23, 1868 in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri. I don't know a lot about him. He moved with his parents to Jefferson County, Missouri in about 1877 and for the most part seems to have spent the rest of his life there. He never married. I know that around 1900 he got a job working for the American Tin Plate Company, in Elwood, Madison County, Indiana. He apparently helped his nephew Jesse Waggener get a job there and Jesse and family lived there apparently near to Thomas for at least several years. I know that by 1910 he had returned to Festus, and that he and his brother George lived on and ran the family farm on Kenner Hill, in San Joachim Township, north of Festus. He died in Joachim Township, Jefferson County, on March 18, 1912, and is buried with his parent and a number of siblings in the Gamel Cemetery in Festus.- RW ============== From the book "Genealogy of the Swink Family of Missouri" by Robert A. Swink; The Star-News Publishing Co., Pasadena, California, 1940: Thomas Kenner never married; died in Festus, Missouri on March 6, 1930, and is buried in Gamel Graveyard. ============= From the 1870 Federal Census of Beauvais township, Ste. Game and music were features of the evening and everyone had a fine time. Mr. Kenner is well known here, and his many friends were more than glad to see him again. (These stories seem to confirm that Tom was in Elwood, Indiana throughout this time.- RW) ============= From the 1910 Federal Census of Joachim Township, Jefferson County, Missouri, district 32, sheet 11B, page 98, taken May 4, 1910, household 5; from ancestry.com, image 42 of 66. I know that the house burned down some time after Tom's parents died, but do not know when that was. I know that the estate of Mary Kenner sold most and possibly all of the Kenner property in July of 1920, but not sure if that included the house and immediate property. Tom died about a month before the 1930 census, which if he had lived long enough to be listed on it, we might know a bit more. -RW) ============= From Jefferson County Funeral Home Records, posted by the Jefferson County Historical Society: Name: Kenner Thomas F.
