Note: From Tom Belt: Genevieve E. Henderson was the third of the six children of Archibald Henderson and his wife Elizabeth (McManus) [aka Libbie] Henderson. Genevieve was known in her adult years as Jane. She first married Roy J. Weiss on September 1, 1916 in Flint, Michigan. They were later divorced. Jane was born on January 28, 1898 in Monroe County, Michigan. She died of ovarian cancer on October 24, 1954 in Flint, Michigan. Roy was born on May 19, 1898 in Racine, Wisconsin. He died August 13, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, of a heart attack. Jane remarried, in about 1928, to Stevens G. Hopkins, an oral surgeon, whom she had met while living with her ex-in-laws. They too eventually divorced, somewhere around 1942, immediately after which Dr. Hopkins married someone else. Jane never married again. Her later years were spent working in Flint as a nurse/receptionist for Donald L. Bishop, a Flint physician. My wife remembers Dr. Bishop and recalls her family's respect for him because of his longtime loyalty to Jane. She continued working for him up through the time that she was diagnosed with cancer, quitting only when she could no longer work. She eventually moved in with her daughter Betty (the one that recently provided my wife with the family picture of Libbie Henderson). I'm not sure whether Jane died at Betty's house, in Flint, or at the Flint hospital where she had received treatment. Neither Roy nor Jane had any children from their ensuing marriages. ============= From the Federal Census of 1900, Monroe County, Michigan, Exeter Township, taken June 4, 1900, page 3B; ancestory.com, Monroe County, District #70, image 6 of 42.
