Richard N. "Dick" Sturman, 82, of Panama City Beach, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012, at his home. Dick was born in Detroit, MI, and lived in Bay County since 1989. He was the founder and previous owner of DJ Enterprises, a Taco Bell franchisee, and was the former owner of the Bay Auto Mart. Before moving to Bay County, Dick owned and operated Ford dealerships in Memphis and Pittsburgh. He was a private pilot who was instrument and twin engine rated, and was proud to have flown to Alaska. Dick was a member of the Shriners, and often flew burn victims to various Shrine Hospitals. He was a member of the Bay Point Yacht Club, and the Rotary Club, where he was presented the Paul Harris Fellow award. Dick was a past member of the Krewe of Dominique Youx, and was active in many community projects. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Jean Sturman; his former wife Shirley and their children, Terry and Rick Mastny, Mike and Beth Sturman, Kathy and Jim Gorman, Kenneth Sturman, Todd and Cindy Sturman, and Jo and Mike Drutarosky; his children by his marriage to Jean, Renata and Jack Horan, Richard and Patty Baker and Eric and Laura Baker; his grandchildren, Sheila, Ethan, Jillian, Amy, Emma, Theodore, Andy, Ella, Daniel, Zachary, Jessie, Tyler, Riley, Mariah, Colby and Garrison; and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM Monday, October 8, 2012, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Watson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00.
