Note: Alice Harriet Waggener was the ninth of eleven children born to her parents Reuben Garnett Waggener and Mary Moore. She was born on October 15, 1855 in Rush Tower, Jefferson County, Missouri. She grew up on her parents farm in Rush Tower. On October 25, 1882, Alice married Franklin Wolcott Brands, in the home of her parents in Rush Tower. Three children were born to them: twins Lottie Belle and Lettie Blanche in 1885, and daughter Franklin "Frankie" Wolcott in 1892. The twins were born in Rush Tower, in probably the same home of Alices' parents where she was born and married. Alice's husband Franklin died in 1892, at the age of 38, leaving Alice to raise the three young children. Frankie was actually born five months after her father had passed away. I believe that Alice and her children lived in Jefferson County after Franklin's death. Alice died April 15, 1913, in Fayette, Howard Co., Missouri, where she had been living for the previous three months with her daughter Lottie Halberstadt.
