a. Note:   Peter Burback, 90, of south of Pierce, who was in good health and supervised his farm until 2 wks before his death, died Thursday morning at his home. Born Nov 2, 1868 at Norka, Russia, Burback came to this country with his parents at the age of 8. His family settled near Sutton, Neb where he was reared and where he married Anna Elizabeth Mohr. They made their home at Sutton until 1905 when they came to Windsor. In 1917 the Burback family moved to the Ault community. They have been on their present farm since 1948. Two daughters and two sons live at home, Edith and Helen Burback and Conrad and Tom. Mrs. Burback died April 2, 1933. Other surviving children are Mrs. Elizabeth Eubank of Greeley, Mrs. Mary Kerbs of Pierce and George of Ault. Also surviving are a brother Adam of Nebraska, eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. (obit) From Doris (Robert) Kerbs "Grandpa Pete knew the last name was spelled Burbach but all their mail, bank statements, etc. came spelled with a K instead of the H. Grandpa Peter got tired of it so he said to the family, leave it with a K.
