Note:   1840 US Census North Carolina Greene County Green Letchworth 1 male 5 to 10 1 male 10 to 15 1 male 20 to 30 2 females under 5 1 female 20 to 30 4 slaves Between 1850 and 1860 they moved from Greene County to Pitt County, North Carolina. In Oct. 1858, Green was indicted in Pitt County, NC for assaulting Mary Ann Letchworth. Elizabeth was a seamstress in the 1860 US Census, Pitt County, North Carolina. In 1880 US Census, Pitt County, Green and Elizabeth were living in Lenoir Institute Township, Lenoir County, North Carolina, where Green was working as a wheelwright. Elizabeth was suffering from cancer in 1880. Green was mentioned in the Lenoir County Board of County Commissioners Minutes as a new pauper on the Pauper List, receiving $3.00 assistance. Green was made a miniature high back straight chair for the first born of each of his sons and daughters. Green lived with his daughter Sophia Crawford after his wife died. Green at the age of 90, had a dream that he was kicking a dog and fell out of bed, breaking his hip. He remained bedridden the rest of his life. He moved from Greenville Township, Pitt County, to near Pactolus, North Carolina. Green Berry Letchworth died in 1906 at the age of 95 surviving about all his children. They had 13 children and at Green's death, he had over 300 descendants. they are both buried in the Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Pitt County, North Carolina.
