a. Note:   Harry H. Wakefield, 73, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, a t Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Bur ial with military honors presented by American Legion Post 569/200 an d VFW Post 1303 will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral ho me. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Rock Island, where he was a member. Harry was born April 30, 1930, in Centerville, Iowa, son of William Wa kefield and Caddy Grace Stargell Wakefield. He married Miyako Uenaka i n 1948 in Japan. Harry was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was employed with the Rock Island Arsenal for many years. He travel ed all over the world while working for the U.S. government. He also w as a licensed auto dealer and enjoyed buying and selling cars. His oth er interests included music. Harry is survived by his companion, Miyako; brothers, Clarence Wakefie ld, Davenport, Bobby Wakefield and Everett Wakefield, both of Centervi lle; sisters, Sarah Hanson, Milan, Alice Stewart, Longview, Wash., an d Ruth Benz, Centerville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Er sel and Harold; and four sisters, Lena, Anna, Irene and Marie. (Rock Island Argus, Oct. 29, 2003) Inscription: Cpl US Army
