a. Note:   obituary--- Mr. Harton There passed away last Tuesday, at the home of Mr. D.B. Jones, near Apex,
 Mr. William P. Harton, a venerable old gentleman, in the eighty fourth year
 of his age. Mr. Harton was for a long time a trusted Seaboard Air Line engineer,
 but owing to his advanced age had been living quietly at the home of Mr. Jones.
 He leaves, besides a devoted wife, who is also advanced in age, one son,
 Mr. Thomas Harton of Wilmington, five daughters, Mrs. Ella Stephenson, of
 Elgin, Ill., Mrs. R.E. Lumsden, of Raleigh, Mrs. Mattie V. Booker of High Point,
 Mr. Emma Allen of Apex, and Mrs. Josie Jones at whose home he died, a number
 of grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends to mourn their loss. His remains
 were buried at Apex Baptist Church Cemetary Wednesday afternoon.
