Note:   Deed Book H Page 333 Ohio County Kentucky Court Clerks Office This indenture made and entered into this the 5th day of September 1840 between William Wakeland of the County of Ohio and the State of Kentucky of the one part and Turner Wakeland of the County and State aforesaid of the part witnesseth that the said William Wakeland for and in consideration of the said Turner Wakeland entering himself as security for the said William Wakeland to Joshua Render for a certain Sorrell mare purchased by William Wakeland of Joshua Render for the sum of $25.00, hath this day mortgaged unto the said Turner Wakeland his crop of corn growing on the farm where the said William Wakeland now resides and also a certain lot of small hogs in number about 17 or 18 and in the following mark...... a crop and slit in the left ear and an under bit and slit in the right ear. Now in consideration of the above obligation it is such that if the said William Wakeland shall fully pay and satisfy the said Joshua Render for the said mare and thereby hold the said Turner Wakeland harmless in the premises then this obligation to be void and of no effect. Otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. In testimony whereof the said William Wakeland hath this day set his hand and affixed his seal. The day and year above written.
