a. Note:   Per 1850 census, Duplain Twp., Clinton Cty. Patric and Mary were living in same house. Daniel was living nearby with the Thoms Craven? Jr. family as a laborer. Per Alan's Mother Daniel Galligan married Sarah, had son John. Sarah died. Daniel married Lucy Baker , had George & Daughter?? Daniel left Lucy and Married Elizabeth Swain & had 2 son's LDS Ancestral file AFN: 1B07-R22 shows Daniel born: 1839 in England. Listed his wife as Elizabeth Jane (Libbe) Peaks, AFN: 1B08-6XM 1864 Military Service. Daniel Galligan was a pvt., age 34, home- Ovid, in the 1st Company of Sharpshooters of the 27th Michigan Infantry, also known as "Perrin's Sharpshooters" and they operated in direct connection with the 27th Michigan Infantry from their inception in 1864 until the end of the war. They were armed with the most destructive infantry arm of the war, the "Spencer repeating rifle". They were so effective in actions with the 27th that the entire regiment voted to all be armed With them and the whole regiment redesignated as "Sharpshooters".
