Notes
a. Note:   Ron Collins, 7-12-2000 [email protected]@amc.com posted on [email protected]@rootsweb.com. Looking for info on Conrad Kempf. Conrad married Caroline Geisenhoefer abt 1870. 1880 census shows: Kimpf, Conrad - 39- farmer, born Germany; Caroline -23- , Keeping House, born Mich.; Charles -2- born Mich; Augustus -4 mos- born Mich. Ron Collins also found entry for Jacob Geisenhoefer, father of Caroline Kempf. Geisenhoefer, Jacob -49- Farmer, born Wurtemburg, Germany; Fredrica -53 ?- Keeping house, born Wuremburg; John G. -20- Farmer, born Mich; Willimena F. -15- at home, born Mich.; Fred 14, works on farm, born Mich.; Emma R. 11, born Mich.; L. Edward 8, born Mich. The 1860 census, Dewitt Twp, Clinton Cty, MI shows Jacob's name as Kassenhaven, wife - Fredricka; children - Paulina, william, Caroline L., John J. 2-17-02 The listings from Dewitt Library, for the Hurd Cemetery show Jacob "father", Fredricka "Mother", Mathew "Grandfather", Rosa "Grandmother". Also Louis E. in the same plot. I am assuming that the correct spelling is Geisenhaver, disregarding the various spellings from census and othe rsources. I am also assuming that Mathew & Rosa were Jacob's parents since they are buried in the same plot and because of the "Grandfather" and "Grandmother" markiings on the tombstones.
