a. Note:   Rockford Directory 1955 Wakenight Richard USNAC resides 902 1/2 Montague Richard L. Wakenight Died: Friday, October 21, 2005 Age: 74 Richard L. Wakenight, 74, Fontana, formerly of South Bend, Ind., and Elmhurst, Ill., died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at his home. He was born July 26, 1931, in Rockford, Ill., the son of the late Laurin and Florence Callihan Wakenight. He graduated from East Rockford High School in 1949, graduated in 1959 from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in accounting, did graduate work at the University of Chicago and graduated from the Harvard University advanced management program. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Navy Air Corps, and was president and CEO of United Fixtures Co., Niles, Mich. He married the former Patricia Fox June 25, 1955, in Rockford. Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia; five children, Mark (Christine) Wakenight, Elmhurst, Matthew (Jeanne) Wakenight, Wilmette, Ill., Julie (Dan) McJohn, Western Springs, Ill., Paul Wakenight, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Beth Wakenight, Fontana.; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy (Vern) Park and Connie (Jim) Bowman, both of Rockford. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ramar. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be said Friday, Oct. 28, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fontana, with the Rev. Dan Sanders officiating. The family will receive visitors Friday in church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Memorials are requested in Richard's name to Hospice Care Inc., 3001 West Memorial Drive, Janesville, Wis., 53548. The Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home and Crematory, Lake Geneva, is assisting the family with arrangements.
