a. Note:   Dixon Telegraph 1-23-98 Lawrence "Larry" Weitzel, 51, of 814 Sproul St Died Friday Jan. 23, 1998 in his home following A long illness. He had worked as a cement finisher Most recently for Omega Building Services. He was born on March 3, 1946 in Dixon to John and Anna (Feltes) Weitzel. He married Margaret Strow. He had attended St. Annes Grade School and Dixon High School He served in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam Conflict He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include his wife; one son, Travis Weitzel and one daughter Trina Weitzel, both at home; two step-sons, Chuck and Kevin Strow, Both of Dixon; one step-daughter, Sharon Boyenga of Dixon; Four sisters, Joann (Loren) Munson of Dixon, Jennie (Charlos) Anderson of Genoa, Colo., Nancy (Jack) Munson of Grand Detour and Julia (Herman) Johnson of Harmon; three brothers, James (Molly) Weitzel, William (Dixie) Weitzel and John (Sue) Weitzel All of Dixon and three step-grandchildren Kayla, Kymberlie, And Justyn Boyenga all of Dixon Funeral services will be held Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Prayer services in Jones funeral home in Dixon followed by A 10 a.m. mass of Christian burial in St. Patrick's Catholic Church With Rev. John Strinini, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetary with Military Graveside Services Provided by the Dixon Combined Veterans Group. Vistitation will be held Sunday from 2-8 p.m. in the funeral home With the family present from 6-8p.m. with a scripture service at 7p.m. A memorial has been established to KSB Hospice. We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name In life we loved you dearly in death we do the same It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone For part of us went with you the day God called you home You left us tender memories your love will be our guide And though we cannot see you you are always by our side Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again
