Note: IT is often reported that William I.'s middle name was Ira but so far there is no documentation for this . According to obit for William I.'s daughter Barbara, his middle name was Irwin, and one of his grandson's was named William Irving. Until there is proof, it is best to leave his name as just the initial "I" Will dated 6 April 1886, filed 29 June 1899: left to wife 25 acres of home tract of land plus 1 room of the house(specifically the south room!), plus specified provisions per year. Gave the house and home tract of land including wife's 25 acres(after her death or re-marriage) to son Bennett. Also said that Bennett was to care for "my oldest son Nathan I. Rowland who is insane" and that was why he was giving Bennet more than his fair share of the estate. "I make no provisions in this will for my sons , James W. Rowland, and John L. Rowland, for they have each had their full share of my estate." He left his son Cornelius Rowland $300. Gave instructions that a specific tract of land be sold and the money divided between "my three daughters Henrietta Gilbert, Barbara N. Bridgers and Jennett F. Akins." He then gave $5 each to "my daughters Emeline Utley and Mary E. Utley". Made a codicil in 1892 to leave his wife a bed, furniture and bed clothes. (the filing of the estate mentioned that the wife was "Annie" and all of the children lived in Wake County except Cornelius, who lived in Texas) 1840 Census Wake Co. William I.
