Note: Bell Rye is buried in Manning Cemetary #1. Note from Betty Sue Herzog said name was Margarette and was borned Feb. 10, 1865 in Olney, ILL. Children: Virgil Tell Manning Maude Mae Manning Dolly Manning Grace Manning A Boy who died at birth, Grandpa had to take it because it couldn't be born and both Mother and Baby were about to die. (info from Louise Manning Thornton.) On Margaret Bell Rye all I had was her father as Ed Rye. Is this what you have? This is what I found. On the 1880 census in Olney, Richland Co., IL There is a John Rie, age 46, born in NJ and parents are born in Germany. In the household is: Name, age, place of birth Sarah, 45,OH John A.,23,IL Hattie,18,IL Alice E,17,IL Bell,15,IL Mary F,13,IL Telly Grant,10,IL Tinnie,8,IL I found them in 1870 in Olney, Richland Co., Illinois. Spelling was Bye. John,34,NJ Sarah,32,OH John A.,13,IL Harrit,8,IL Emma A,7,IL Margaret,5,IL Mary F,3,IL (looks more like Mury F.) Clarance,1,IL It is a B in Bye not an R. I can't find him in 1860. I looked for Rye, Rie, Bye and Bie. Since John A was born in IL and was going to browse the Olney TWP in 1860, but there were 75 pages. I did find on Gencircles Mary Frances Rye b. 12 Jan 1867 in Olney, Richland County, IL. Parents are John Rye b. 25 Sep 1833 and d. 19 May 1883 and Sarah Alice Smith b. 2 Nov 1834 and d. 23 Mar 1886. This person has their place of birth as Onley IL, which I think is wrong. But they also have that they are buried in Haven Hill Cemetery in Onley, IL. I think I'm getting somewhere. I just wish people would spell their name the same every time. What do you think?
