a. Note:   There is another child C.E. Whittaker there January 22, 1908 died March 21, 1908--this is probably his child also. James "Jim" Madison Whitaker was born Mach 16, 1871, in Lawrence County, AR. He moved to Compton around 1900. On April 15, 1901 he married Laura Delina Jackson, born October 22, 1882 in Carroll County, AR. Laura died October 01, 1936 and Jim died on March 14, 1950. Both are buried in Grubb Springs Cemetery near Harrison, Arkansas. Jim's father, Thomas Whittaker was born in Missouri. Thomas' father was born in Kentucky, his mother in Missouri. Jim's mother, Malissa, was born in Missouri, her father and mother were both born in Tenness. Jim had three older sister: Mary, Sarah and Lynotta and two younger brothers, Thomas and Talamens and a younger sister, Susan B. Laura Jackson's father Jahugh Wintson Jackson was born March 5, 1849, in Washington County, TN; he died Sept. 21, 1935. His parents were Tolbert Jackson and Jane Crow, both born in TN. Laura's mother, Louisa Harriett Eagle was born in Monroe County, KY. Her parents were Jonathan Eagle and Melvina (?) both born in Washington County, TN Jim and Laura lived at Hill Top inBoone County, AR until about 1918 when they moved to Harrison, AR. Their first two children died as teenagers. They were Allie, born Oct 03, 1903, and died Jan. 13, 1918, and Thomas Winston, born Feb. 14, 1906 and died May 6, 1925. Both are buried with their parents in Grubb Springs Cemetery. Their other children, their husbands and children are as follows: Ester Jane born Jan. 20, 1908, died Sept. 30, 1988, married Floyd Hudson, they had on son, James Fred Hudson, born Nov. 9, 1931. Effie Myrtle was born March 16, 1910, died March 27, 1954, married Jack Mahler and they had no children. Iva Sue born Aug. 23, 1912, died Nov. 26, 1983, married Troy Robinson, they had one son, Donald Edward, born Oct. 24, 1942, died Nov. 17, 1973, was killed in a hunting accident and a daughter, Virginia Myrtle (Lee). Jane, Effie, Floyd, iva, troy and Don are all buried in the Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, AR..
