Abraham Henderson sold 150 acres of land in Greenbrier (now WV) Virginia in 1798. Abraham, his wife, Anne Blanton and their family moved to Madison County, Kentucky. Abraham purchased land in Madison County, Kentucky on the big bend of the Kentucky River from Thomas Trible and his wife, Jinny, on August 1, 1798. Monroe County grants before this period are filed in the Greenbrier records. However, even after 1799 (as late as 1809) grants in Monroe County were still filed in Greenbrier County. Abraham and his brother, David and an Elizabeth are listed in the 1799 list of Kentucky Taxpayers. The identity of Elizabeth Henderson is not known. {KY CO Taxpayers 1787-1799} Abraham Henderson and David Henderson are listed in the census for Madison County, Kentucky in 1800. This land was on Drowning Creek. In 1807 they sold the 112 acres on the big bend of the Kentucky River they had purchased from Thomas and Jinny Trible in 1798. Abraham was bondsman for Elizabeth Henderson, daughter of his brother, David Henderson when she married Drury Moberly on January 23, 1810 in Madison County, Kentucky. Drury and Elizabeth moved to Lawrence County, Indiana and were counted in the 1820 Census. They may have lived in Montgomery County, Indiana ca 1830 and then moved to Livingston County, Missouri, where Elizabeth died before 1850. Drury died in Boone County, Missouri in 1863. The 1810 Census of Madison County, Ky., census lists: Joseph (ours), Daniel (ours), David (ours), Jeremiah (ours), Abraham, Joseph, William and John Henderson. . **Abraham, David and Joseph are all 45 years of age and older. p 248 Abraham HENDERSON1 m un 10, 1 m 45+, 1 f 10-16,1 f 26-45 Abraham's name is mentioned in a transaction in Greenbrier County, Virginia: 21 Jan 1811; Oliver TOWLES Jr and wife Agnes TOWLES 1000 acres for 4000 pounds to Joseph ALDERSON of Monroe Co., three tracts TOWLES purchased from Wm MORRIS, James HENDERSON, Barnabas COOPER, and Abraham HENDERSON all adj each other on Greebrier River and Muddy Creek and includes a payment schedule. HENDERSON to WOOLERY This Indenture made this fifteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty two between ABRAHAM HENDERSON of the County of Madison and State of Kentucky of the one part and FRANCIS WOOLERY of the county and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said ABRAHAM HENDERSON for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of Kentucky to him in hand paid by the said FRANCIS WOOLERY, the receipt whereof the said ABRAHAM HENDERSON doth hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said FRANCIS WOOLERY and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Madison and State of Kentucky on the waters of DROWNING CREEK containing one hundred and seven acres and is bounded as followeth towit Beginning at a red oak and dogwood thence North forty five degrees West forth four poles to a dogwood thence North twenty two poles to a sugar tree and hickory on a branch thence East down the said branch twenty two poles to and elm on GREEN CLAYS old line thence the same count East eight poles to a Stake in the said branch thence South thirty four and one half poles to two dogwood sapling thence South ninety poles to a red oak thence North eighty eight degrees West seventeen poles to a white oak thence south one hundred and forty nine poles to a corner, two white oaks and a dogwood thence West fifty four poles to THOMAS EASTONS corner, thence North one hundred seventy four poles to the Beginning with all and singular its appurtenances to have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and singular its appurtenances as unto the said FRANCIS WOOLERY and his heirs forever to his and their only proper use and behoof and the said ABRAHAM HENDERSON and ANNA HENDERSON his wife for themselves and their heirs the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all its appurtenances unto the said FRANCIS WOOLERY and his heirs forever against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever will forever warrant and defend In witness whereof the said ABRAHAM and ANNA HENDERSON, his wife, hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered in presen ABRAHAM HENDERSON {LS} ANNA HENDERSON {LS} Kentucky Madison County I DAVID IRVINE Clerk of the court for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that this Deed was produced in my office on the 6th day of May 1822 and acknowledged by ABRAHAM HENDERSON and ANNA his wife to be their at and deed and having first explained the contents of said ANNA and having privately examined her separate and apart from her said husband as the law directs she freely and voluntarily relinquished all her right and title to the land in said Deed mentioned and the same has been duly Recorded in my office.
