Note: itt and Lucy Littlebury. He lived in Amherst County, Va at the time of the Revolution, but was too young to serve. Five of his brothers did serve and one was killed. William Witt married Mildred Baber in 1782 in Albemarle County, Va. They sold a total of 600 acres in Amherst County, Va in the year 1794, and moved to (now) Estill County, Kentucky, probably in 1795, the same year that his brother Elisha Witt came to Kentucky. William Witt moved to Howard County, Missouri probably late in life, where he died December 25, 1827. He is named as a Rev. veteran on a tablet on the courthouse lawn in Howard County. There is a book on the veterans of Nelson County, Va that lists William as a Revolutionary soldier along with his brothers. He and his wife were parents to 11 children. NOTE: Resume of Howard County, Missouri, Court Records. At the time of his death in Howard Co., Mo. (date of death unknown, but before 1833) Elisha B Witt (brother of Nelson Witt) owned certain property in Town of Fayette, Howard Co, Mo. He died intestate and without descendants. In order to subsequently sell this property to one Abil Leonard, it was necessary to obtain deeds from his heirs at law relinquishing any right or interest they had in said property as his heirs at law. by these court recorded deeds and affidavits, as set out below, we have confirmagtion and verification of the identity of the brothers and sisters (at least most of them) of the said Elisha B Witt. Widow Lydia Witt (then Lydia Witt Dykes, having subsequently married Benjamin Dykes) --- on April 28, 1834, Lydia Witt Dykes and Benjamin Dykes, her husband, then residents of Clark County, Kentucky, sold their interest in said property to Abil Leonard. Deed recorded January 1, 1835. (See Book M - page 386-387-388) Lucy Witt and husband William Witt, then residents of Estil Co., Ky., on March 17, 1934, sold their interest in said property to Abil Leonard, the said Lucy Witt being a sister of said Elish B Witt. Deed recorded January 1, 1835. (See Book M - page 376-377-378 Elizabeth Witt Mize and husband Jushua Mize, then residents of Estill Co., Ky., on March 19, 1834, sold their interest in said property to Abil Leonard, the said Elizabeth Mize verifying that she was a sister of said Elisha B. Witt. Deed recorded January 1, 1835. (See Book M - page 379) Littleberry (Little B.) Witt and Fanny (Frances Hughes) his wife, then residents of Howard Co., Mo., on March 25, 1834, sold their interest in said property to the said Abil Leonard, Littleberry Witt verifying that he was a brother of the said Elisha B Witt. Deed recorded January 1, 1835. (See Book M - page 383-384) Nelson Witt and wife, Catherine (McCorkle) Witt, then residents of Clay County, Mo. on January 21, 1834, sold their interests in said property to Abil Leonard, Nelson Witt verifying that he was a brother of the said Elisha B. Witt. Deed recorded March 1, 1839. (See Book Q - page 403-404-405) John Witt and wife Lucinda Witt, then residents of Franklin Co., Ky., sold their interest in said property to Abil Leonard, John Witt verifying that he was a brother of said Elisha B Witt, on February 6, 1839. Deed recorded March 1, 1839. (See Book Q - page 403-404-405) Milly (Mildred) Witt Rogers, and husband, Hiram Rogers, then residents of Estill Co., Ky., on January 20, 1840, sold their interest in said property to Abil Leonard, said Milly Witt Rogers verifying that she was a sister of said Elisha B Witt. Deed recorded October 7, 1840. (See Bood S - pages 104-105 Margaret Witt Lile, and husband John M Lile, then residents of Howard Co., Mo., on September 26, 1833, sold their interest in said property to Abil Leonard, the said Margaret (Witt) Lile verifying that she was a sister of the said Elisha B Witt. Deed recorded November 4, 1833. (See Book M - page 33-34-35) Mary (Polly) Witt Newton, and husband William F Newton, then residents of Saline County, Missouri, on March 15, 1834, sold their interest in said property to Abil Leonard, said Mary (Polly) (Witt) Newton verifying that she was a sister of the said Elisha B Witt. Deed recorded January 1, 1835. (See Book M - page 381-382) No record found on these parcels of land relative to any interest of James Witt or Obediah Witt. (as of 11/188). Assume they may have been deceased at that time.
