a. Note:   Funeral services for Mrs. (Ruth) John A. Goodrich, 74, long-time Monango resident, were held Wednesday afternoon, Oct 4, at the Presbyterian church in Ellendale with Rev. Harry Houser officiating. Mrs. Goodrich died Oct. 1 at Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient for several weeks.
  Active pallbearers were James Walberg, Loren Nelson, Ronald Goodrich, Richard Goodrich, Steven Goodrich and Gordon Goodrich, Jr. Honorary pallbearers included Albert Rittmiller, Daniel Richter, Coral Bardell, Otto Genter, F. L. Knox, Ralph Schiefelbein and Wendell Jones. Interment was at Ellendale cemetery with Holte funeral home in charge of arrangements. Ruth B. Goodrich was born Sept. 21, 1893, in the Monango area, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. (Ella Mae Linthurst) William J. Beaver. Her marriage to John A. Goodrich took place at Ellendale Mar 7, 1912. They lived near or in Monango most of their lives and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Mar. 7, 1962. She was Monango news correspondent for the Dickey County Leader, serving for the past five years. She had also cooked for the Monango school for several years. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and of its Monango Ladies Aid, until they discontinued the organization.
  She is survived by her husband John A. of Monango; four sons, Kenneth J. of Fullerton, William L. of Phoenix, Ariz, Gordon R. of Highmore SD and Clifford D, serving in the navy, stationed at Norfolk, VA; three daughters, Mrs. (Ella) Harry Feather of Aberdeen SD, Mrs (Dorothy) Louis Nelson of Edgeley, Mrs. (Gladys) Conrad Juelke of Mandan; two brothers James Beaver of Stirum and Earle of Galt, CA; two sisters, Mrs. (Mary) L.C. Remmele of Long Beach, CA, and Mrs. (Mae) Ben Proctor of Browns Valley, MN; 26 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by two daughters, her parents, four brothers and one sister.
