Beaver Last rites will be conducted this afternoon at two o'clock in the Ellendale Methodist church for William J. Beaver, who died at 4:20 o'clock Sunday morning following a long illness. Rev. D.W. Ashley, pastor of the church will officiate, and interment will be made in the family plot at the Fullerton cemetery. Pallbearers are Chas. Clancy, Matt Whelan, Arthur Paulson, Freeman Knox, Ralph Schiefelbein and George Clancy. Honorary pallbearers are George Feather, Jacob Gebhardt, William Fox, E. Magoffin, Roy Stevens, John Thorn, Roy O'Neal and Henry Corrigan. William John Beaver was born Nov. 21, 1864 at Lewistown, Pa., the eldest son of James H. and Mary Beaver. His marriage to Miss Ella M. Lindthurst took place Mar. 19, 1885 at Milroy, Pa., and imediately afterward they came to North Dakota to settle on a farm in Valley township. While a resident there, Mr. Beaver served for a number of terms as school and township treasurer and assessor. Mrs. Beaver's death occurred at their farm home on Feb. 28, 1934, and in 1939 Mr. Beaver came to Ellendale to make his home. He had been a member of the Methodist church, the A. O. U. W. and Modern Woodman lodges. Mr. Beaver did much to help others in sickness and when in need; his home was always open and his services available to friends who needed him. He is survived by six sons, James L., Stirum, N.D.; Orlando E., Jefferson, S.D.; Fern Frank and William Dewey, Monango; Bruce F., Ellendale, and Earl F., Lodi, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. (Ruth) John Goodrich, Monango; Bessie E. of Ellendale; Mrs. (Mary) L.C. Remmele, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. (May) Ben Proctor of Boyd, Minn. and one sister, Mrs. Anna Ekren, Baudette, Minn. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
