a. Note:   . He grew up in rural Hamer where he was educated at a rural school. He then farmed at his family farm and later farmed in rural Tolna until he retired. He enjoyed spending time with family, being outdoors, fishing and playing cards. He is survived by two sons, Mike (Kathy) Waldo, Frederick, S.D., and Travis (Leona) Waldo, Tolna; two daughters, Erin (Dave) Harrell, Cresbard, S.D., and Amy (Josh) Gulstad, West Fargo, N.D.; his eight grandchildren Josie Waldo, Cheyenne Waldo, Wyatt Waldo, Dalton Waldo, Kassadie Waldo, Braxton Waldo, Jacoby Waldo and David Harrell and two brothers, Ronald (Lorene) Waldo, Warwick, North Dakota Darrell (Pam) Waldo, Rapid City, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his companion, Julie who died February 13, 2011; his parents and a brother, Marvin. Funeral Services for Wendell will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Pastor Jeff Kapelle will officiate and burial will be at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Note:   Wendell C. Waldo, 79, Tolna, N.D., died Monday, Mar. 26, 2012, at his home in rural Tolna, N.D. Wendell Clare Waldo was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Foster County, the son of Elton and Clara (Ness) Waldo
