a. Note:   ad a deferrment from the military during the draft of World War Two. He worked in the hosiery mill in Lansdale for awhile, then became a tool and die maker. He was an avid sports fan, and loved to cheer (and boo) his beloved Philadelphia teams all year long. He also had a wicked sense of humor, which he loved to sport when dealing with his five children. He was an avid tennis player bowler, photographer, and coin collector, and there was almost nothing that he couldn't do with his hands. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Cannoners, Eagles and the Lansdale Moose, and was part of the North Pennsman Barbershop chorus.
