Notes
a. Note:   Illine's genealogy said B: 19 Nov 1702, and it had marriage date. Findagrave- Esther Wales Birth: unknown Death: Oct. 9, 1737 consort of Ebenezer Wales Esq. aged 34 Burial: Windham Center Cemetery Windham Windham County Connecticut, USA RE: Esther Wales Gravestone at Windham Center Goodness, Goodness. If Esther (Smith) Wales is your ancestor, then we are ancestral cousins. She was b. at Windham on Nov 24, 1702, the dau. of Lieut. Elisha Smith & Elizabeth Wheelock. Her brother Seth was b. at Medfield, Mass. on Oct 25, 1701, meaning the parents moved from Medfield to Windham by 1702. I don't have in my program who Lieut. Elisha's parents were, but Elizabeth Wheelock's parents were Eleazer Wheelock (b. May 3, 1654 at Dedham, Mass., s. of Rev. Ralph Wheelock & Rebecca Clarke) and Elizabeth Fuller (b. abt. 1652 at Rehoboth, Mass., dau. of Robert Fuller & Sarah Bowen -Robert & Sarah's son Jonathan is my ancestor) Elizabeth Fuller (b. c. 1652) n. 1) Nehemiah Sabin at Rehoboth on Aug. 1, 1672 and was killed by Indians at Rehoboth in Jun 1676 during the King Philip's War burning by the Indians of Rehoboth. They had one child of record, son Daniel, b. abt. 1676, possibly posthumously, who ended up at Windham, Conn. where he m. Abigail Abbe at Windham on Mar 18, 1700/1, whose dau. Sarah, b. at Windham, Conn. on Mar 27, 1703, was the 1st wife of Israel Robinson, eldest son of Peter Robinson, Sr. & his first wife Mary Manter, the former of Tisbury, Mass. and later Windham, Conn. I cannot immediately prove that Daniel Sabin of Rehoboth & Windham are one and the same, but on Apr 17, 1678 at Rehoboth, the widower Eleazer Wheelock m. the widow Elizabeth (Fuller) Sabin and moved her to Mendon, Mass. where she d. on Jan 11, 1688/9. Their dau. Elizabeth Wheelock, b. at Medfield, Mass. on Jan. 2, 1678/9, m. at Medfield on Jan 15, 1699/00, Lieut. Elisha Smith, etc. etc. above. Elizabeth (Wheelock) Smith d. of record at Windham on Jan 20, 1703/4. Elisha d. intestate at Windham on May 1, 1714 (Manwaring: Hartford Prob. District, vol 2, p. 297) which gave administration to his widow named Elizabeth, and mentioned his only son Seth and eldest dau. Esther. Who this 2nd wife named Elizabeth was I have not been able to determine, but it is clearly written (or at least was transcribed) that Elizabeth Wheelock d. in 1704, as the two younger children mentioned in Elsha Smith's estate record (Martha & Mary) where b. of record at Windham in 1713 & 1714, the later after the death of her father. There is no subsequent entry for the m. of the widow Elizabeth Smith. And, in August 1714 Dea. Ralph Wheelock of Windham, the brother of Elizabeth (Wheelock) Smith, was named as guardian of his nephew Seth Smith while Jonathan Bingham of Windham was appointed guardian of Esther Smith.
