a. Note:   hat will come up) Myrtle Wales McAchran. Her father was Charles Wales (1875-1928), his father was George Wales (1843-1910), his father was John Wales (1807-1887), his father was Dorus Wales (1781-1854),and his father was Nathan Wales (1750-1825). Lisa Smith-Pedersen Colorado I am so happy to meet you! I have met another descendent of your George Wales, her name is Joan and she lives in Georgia. I am very new to the Wales family history search. I started with my maternal grandfather's family as I know more names and dates from that line. I knew very little about the Wales family. My grandmother, Myrtle Wales McAchran, had a paternal uncle named George Wales, he was a Jesuit priest. He wrote a Wales family history for my grandmother, unfortunately my grandmother loaned it out over 20 years ago and it was never returned. I remembered a little of the information so I started plugging it in to ancestry.com. I have also met the wife of someone who comes down through my 3rd great grandfather too. I also LOVE findagrave.com, I love having a picture, even if it is only a grave, it makes it more "real" for me. I was in DC last week and I visited the DAR library. I copied a notarized letter attesting to the children of Nathan Wales. The person lived in Wisconsin I think. I also copied some town meeting minutes from the 1700's in Connecticut. They prove that our ancestors were patriots. I am so excited to find out more from you! Thank you so much for writing me back!! Lisa :-) I am attaching the document I found last week that has the children of Nathan Wales. I also copied 2 town meeting minutes from Connecticut, but they are so dark, I can't get a legible scan of the documents. I am playing with it now on a photo editing program. It lists Windham, CT, and proves that our ancestors were patriots!! I live 45 miles northeast of Denver, I was just out visiting my new found 3rd cousin in Manassas last week. We met in March (on ancestry.com) and both really hit it off. I took my 3 children out last summer to DC, and I met her in person then. I had planned the entire DC trip before I even knew she existed and I had made a reservation at a hotel in Manassas (I had points at the hotel chain located there). This was all before I knew her, or where she lived. We both took that as a sign that we were meant to meet each other, my hotel was about 1 mile from her house! She is in DAR on our mutual ancestor. She is the one who told me to start researching patriot ancestors. Up until the Spring I only knew the past 100 or so years of my family history.
