My grandfather's--John S. Mallory's--mother was a Harriet Sadler. Her mother was Harriet Morgan. We have been able to find little on her. My mother's father's mother was a Willie Belle West. She descended from a quite prominent Virginia family and may be related to Lord de la War (Delaware), colonial governor of Virginia. Remember how nobody knows the wife of Captain Roger Mallory except that her name was Jane? Jane has this theory that she may have been Jane West. The Wests lived near the Mallory plantation in Virginia on an estate called West Point, and Jane has discovered that their was a woman named Jane West who lived about the same time period as Capt. Roger Mallory. The Wests, Harrises, and Mallorys were very prominent and wealthy in colonial Virginia. It seems that Jane West had a brother named Nathaniel West that worked for Capt. Roger in a tobacco warehouse or something like that. I may have some of the facts wrong, but what Jane theorized at the time was plausible and may be worth checking out. Also, John Senter's wife was a Martha Unknown. He was the father of William Henry Harrison Mallory, who married Harriet Sadler, whose mother was Harriet Morgan. Some in the family have said that they believe Martha was a Morgan. Others have dismissed that idea, thinking it was confused with Harriet Sadler's mother being a Morgan. Do you think it would be all right to contact Patti about the Mallorys and the Wests? You can if you would like to.
