Note: Disbrowe of Eltisley in Cambridgeshire, by Mark Noble, 1787 Jane, the daughter of Mr. Valentine Disbrowe, is ancestress of many families. I shall therefore ba as particular as possible, fearing the reader may not otherwise well comprehend me. She was married to Mr. John Walford, a wealthy clothier in Essex, as were most of his descendants; by whom she had two sons and a daughter - -William, Richard and Jane Walford. see ff. Mr. William Walford, the eldest son, was also a clothier. He married miss Mary Bacon and died in 1766, leaving 3 sons and 4 daughters: [a] William, who married miss Ann Ruggles, by whom he had only the rev. William Walford of Terling in Essex, who married miss Sarah Tweed and has by her two infant sons. [b] Thomas, who died in 1766 and, by Mary his wife, had Thomas, William and Mary, who is unmarried. [c] John, who married, first, miss Maria Sworder and, second, miss Mary Cook. The issue of these marriages were John, Maria-Ann, Isabell-Jane and Frances (the only child of the second marriage). [see ff] [d] Mary, married to Mr. Arthur Tabrum, by whom she had Mr Arthur Tabrum, who is married and has an infant daughter, Willliam Tabrum, who died young, Robert Tabrum and Jane Tabrum, now unmarried. [e] Jane, married Joseph Green, a merchant in London, by whom she has: Joseph Green ( who, by miss Cowell, has an infant son), Will. John Green, Jane Green, married to Isaac Le Fevre esq. but has no issue, Mary Green, married to Mr Luke William Walford. Douglas Green, unmarried [?] Frances Ann Green, unmarried Charlotte Green, unmarried. [f] Elizabeth, died young. [g] Frances, married to Mr Richard Daniel but died without issue in 1780. I now return to John, second son of Mr. John Walford and Jane Disbrowe. John was bred to the church and became vicar of Great Bardfield. He died about the year 1770. By Miss Goldstone, his wife, he had 2 sons and 4 daughters: [a] Luke William Walford [b] John Walford, unmarried [c] Mary Walford, unmarried [d] Jane Walford m. ... Dick =George, John, Thomas, Jane, Mary, Ann, Eliabeth & Frances Dick [e] Elizabeth Walford, unmarried [f] Ann Walford, unmarried from #4 above, children of John Walford & Jane Disbrowe: Jane Walford was their only daughter. She died in 1781. She married Robert Tweed of Halsted, Essex. = [a ] John Tweed, who died young while at university [ b] Jane Tweed, who m. J. B.
