Sprague of Stafford, Conn., Ashfield, Mass., and Buckland, Mass. After Leonard Pike's death in 1804, Mrs. Susanna (Sprague) Pike m. (2nd) Robert Clark, Sr., of Buckland, Mass. Robert Clark d. in 1815 and Mrs. Susannah (Sprague) Pike Clark d. 21 Feb 1828 and is buried in the cemetery at Spragueville, New York, where she had apparently gone to live with some of her children. Leonard Pike was probably a soldier in the Revolutionary War. The following is from 'Mass. Soldiers & Sailors in the War of the Rev,' Vol. 12, page 404: 'Leonoard Pike, Private, Capt. Banjamin Phillip's Co., Col. Elisha Porters (Hampshire County) Regiment: enlisted 10 July 1777; discharged 4 Aug 1777; service 30 days in Northern Department, including travel (100 miles) home.' Leonard Pike is said to have had a family of 28 children by his two wives. While names of all of them have not been found, we will enumerate what we can. Some of his children by his first marriage may have died as infants and were never recorded on Stafford, Conn., or Ashfield, Mass., records. The children of Leonard and Sarah (Case Pike): 1. RUTH, b. 14 Dec. 1751, Mansfield, Conn.; d. 1784-1785 probably in the Deerfield, Mass., area; m. 15 Mar 1774, Benjamin Ellis. 2. IRENA, b. 7 Oct. 1754, Stafford, Conn.; m. at Ashfield, Mass., 1 Aug 1776, Nehemiah Sprague, son of Jonathan and Susannah (??) Sprague. 3. SARAH, b. 2 Sep 1756, Stafford, Conn.; dead before 1 Oct. 1780 (when another Sarah was born). 4. EUNICE, b. 10 Aug 1758, Stafford, Conn.; d. 10 Sep 1773 at Ashfield, Mass. 5. LEONARD, b. 20 Jan 1760, Stafford, Conn.; dead before 20 Feb. 1784 (when another Leonard was born). 6. ELIJAH, b. 3 Mar 1763, Stafford, Conn.; d. 21 Oct 1844, Halifax, Vermont; m. (1) Rebecca ??; (2) _____ ??. 7. ELISHA, b. c. 1765, Stafford, Conn.; d. 5 Aug 1832, Charlemont, Mass.; m. (1) Tabitha ??, who d. 1818 or 1819; m. (2nd) Mrs. Susannah (Carter) Ward. 8. MARY or "POLLY," b. ??; m. 10 Mar 1786, at Charlemont, Mass., to Lemuel Crocker. 9. ??Perhaps NATHANIEL, b. ??; he was in Whitingham, Vermont in the 1790 census along with Leonard Pike and two of his other sons so he may also have been a son of Leonard and Sarah (Case) Pike. 10. ??? 11. ??? 12. ???
