Notes
a. Note:   Daniel Magoon was married to the following: First: Melita Briggs Second: Delight Gilman Third: Philinda Gardner Fourth: Betsy Holbrook Daniel was born in Vermont--his occupation was a farmer. Daniel moved to Malone,N.Y., then by 1840 he moved to Illinois. He was living in Harlem, Winnebaga County, Ilinois in 1850. Daniel then moved to Quebec,Canada. The Canadian 1861 census lists: wife Betsey, son Riley & Ann(age 9, born in Illinois--a granddaughter??) Daniel was buried in the Jones Cemetery, Vale Perkins,Quebec, Canada. According to Joanne Roth from information from Lucia Magoon, Daniel had at total of 15 children from four wives. It is believed Daniel and his brother John both had sons that they named Plummer. It is also believed that all of Daniel's children were by his first three wives. His third wife Philinda didn't die until 1853, well after all of his children were born. He married Betsey Holbrook sometime after 1853; they appear together in the 1861 census. The Ann listed in the 1861 census is listed as his granddaughter. Ann is probably the daughter of Daniel Jr. and Helen Worthing ton. Daniel Jr. Married Helen(not Felicia). The correct census information says Helen. Ann wasn't born in the 1850 census; According to the 1861 census, she was age 9. According the 1850 U.S. Census for Illinois, Winnebago County, Harlem Twp(now Rockford, IL) dwelling #73, family #83 Daniel Magoon* age 55 born in Vermont Filinda (wife) age 35 born in Mass. Williard age 18 born in Canada Riley age 14 born in Canada Chester age 11 born in Vermont *William's 3rd cousin, brother of John Magoon, moved back to Quebec in 1853
